Its taken six days and five clean deletes of the hdd, but finally i have managed to get windows 8 running on a mba.
First, creating a boot camp usb using the wizard. Not too hard, but is tailored to windows 7. Got the ISO from the official download off of the Microsoft store.
Second, getting the stuff installed. Again, not hard. Best thing to do is wait and let it chug along doing what it needs to do.
Third, install the boot camp drivers etc. This again is pretty painless and means that most, if not all, hardware should now work. It appears windows 7 and windows 8 have very similar drivers.
Forth. You should find that you windows 8 software doesn’t work. The product key fails to register…
My strong advice would be to go to start, pc settings and rebuild windows 8 but keep all software and settings to right any installation issues.
See how you get on from there…
Good luck!
