Video Editing on a #Mac isn’t quite as easy as i would have hoped…

I am currently doing some work regarding a short trailer. Its a simple three minute pitch about a particular subject, which for sanities sake, I wont go into right now.

The idea is simple. Short, three minute, intro to a presentation due to take place later this year.

The only problem is the video editing. I am a big fan (and user of) #VegasPro. I also use #HitFilm to do slight specialist stuff when needed.
The problem with the two of them is they don’t fit my current needs. #HitFilm is big an heavy for the after shot effects I need. #Vegas just cant do it out of the box. I then turn to me text / intro editor, #Motion5 on the #Mac. Its a cracking bit of software is i want to do quick and easy intro / text swirly stuff. The problem I have found is that it doesn’t like MTS files.
The software (and the MBA) just does not seem interested in editing it. It cant even read it, let alone play it smoothly…
I am aware that I can transcode it etc, but just wish I didn’t have to.
#Vegas can handle pretty much any file i throw at it. Seems #Mac’s cant do the same…
