So the release date of #Windows 8.1 has been confirmed and in my mind it couldn’t come soon enough.
I am, and continue to be, an advocate of the direction that the MS OS is heading. I am a strong believer that touch and gesture is the way that we will all work in the not too distant future.
My daughter, who is just over two, has the ability to easily use an IPad, and has done for the last year or so. This may sound amazing, but the design and gesture use of the device makes the transition from books, pens, etc to a tablet like the iPad very easy.
People who use a mouse and keyboard will be like the people of today who remember record players. A slowly dieing breed.
#Windows 8 did a lot to get Microsoft back into the OS race. IOS is still the champion and Android is only still up there due to the licensing method that google use.
Assuming that the Windows update fixes a lot of the standard usability issues that people have faced, then we will see a big step towards a really good OS.
There are too many issues at the moment which causes aggravation for both touch and mouse users. Neither camp are completely happy.
I sincerely hope that it will fix issues that both have…
