My thoughts on the #Apple #iPhone5C vs #Nokia #Lumia820

I am fortunate enough to use both the iPhone 5C and the Lumia 820 on a daily basis.

I thought I would post my thoughts on the quality and use of the two devices.

Quality…
The quality of the iPhone 5C is very high. Although made of plastic, their is very little flex in the phone, the charging cable, although completely different to the older setup is probably the best around. No need for a click like on a micro usb or the old 30 pin setup.
The Lumia is over a year old now. Performance is fine and the build quality is more robust, more substantial.
The iphone is light and thin. The Lumia is much larger and feels more rugged. There is no doubt about it, the iphone is much lighter in the pocket.
I personally don’t see any quality issues with the Lumia screen, nor do i really see anything special about the 5C screen.

Use…
The new iOS 7 is nice. Its a pleasure to use. The windows phone is a little less pleasant but still holds its own.
I have to say that the keyboard and daily use is FAR better on the Windows Phone.
The predictive text on the iphone is poor as is the keyboard compared to the windows phone.
Given most of my day is on email, this is a big deal for me.
The calendar functionality in iOS is ok, but if you want to do anything slightly advanced, like reply all to a meeting in you calender, this is extremely hard.
Its a breeze in windows phone.

The app eco system with apple is formidable and the windows phone doesn’t come close.

For me, for an office phone the windows phone wins hands down, but the iphone is a great social/casual device…
