I wont lie, I didnt come up with the title of this blog, it was actually another review / report that read it, but it really did ring true for me.
There is a lot of time between Windows 10 going live and now, a lot of tweaks, improvements and feedback to come. But I cant help thinking that this is really a tweak to Windows 8 rather than a revolution.
Windows 8 came with a lot of good stuff, and unless you had the hardware to make use of it, it was a pretty useless operating system. I am pleased that the Windows 10 that we are seeing a lot of the good bits of Windows 8. Fast boot, connected standby (although I would personally like to have the option to enable hibernate again) the metro, sorry, modern interface, as well as the apps etc which are far more secure and useful than widgets.
Windows 8 also moved Windows 8 into a touch screen world, which it really needed to have done to it. Hardware has now caught up and most laptops now include touch screen, so that will help.
Windows 10 has all those bits as well as a few tweaks here and there, but the software is must more a Windows 8.1a than a Windows 10.
