The #BBCDebate has shown some interesting sides to the parties… #election

I am fascinated by the #electionDebate. For me, what is the most interesting this is how similar a lot of them are. Only the shock tactics seem to really differentiate them, and that is where the #SNP and #UKIP seem to be making ground. They are saying things their core voters want to hear and, in some respects, polarising the rest of the nation.

The #election is different to other years and the main parties are struggling a bit to keep up with the new format / world we are living in. Take the #Green, Welsh and Scottish ‘hug’ at the end. They are very much working together and know that between them they could hold the balance of power.

The #Conservatives and #Labour are still holding out for an outright majority, but that seems incredibly unlikely.

The #LibDem party, who were always the protest party are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They don’t have the shiny new look of the #SNP, #UKIP et al, but also don’t hold the weight of the two ‘main’ parties.

They might still come into their own. The more the ‘hug’ team play on their alliance, people may take a dislike to seeing them potentially hold the balance, then voters might return to LibDems based on their coalition experience and to derisk a #chaoscoalition (as Boris put it).

For me though, all bets are off. This is going to be a interesting May 8th…
