I have been using the case now for well over a week. After a few teething problems I can safely say that the case is excellent. Could it be improved, yes, there are two things that I personally feel should be fixed.
1) The backspace key on the keyboard is not in the “right place” – personally I find the equals key to be in the place where I would want to the backspace. I am slowly learning where it is, but as a touch typer, its quite frustrating to begin with.
2) When I am on a busy train and I am required to use the folio in “just ipad mode” I seem to have an issue where by the screen will turn off. I can only think its related to the magnet position(s) and I assume that the iPad picks up the magnet and thinks the case has been shut.
3) I said two, but there is a third – they keyboard design isn't great for people who want to type a lot. Granted the size is small, that I get and I accept. The thing I am refering to is the key position. Its a US keyboard, so the @ is in a different place, but more annoyingly the ' and ” are hidden as a Fn key press rather than a normal SHIFT key press. I type reasonably fast and this is one of the most annoying features. Secondly in this area is the # key. This is on the keyboard above the 3, however a press of SHIFT and 3 give you a £. To get a # you need to press OPTION and 3. For someone who blogs and uses Twitter, its a pain.
Would I suggest getting it, yes, its great value for money, protects your iPad Mini and looks good as well. Is it perfect – no, but well worth getting for those who do need to type a lot on their iPad on the move…
