#Windows8 (8.1 actually) had a really odd missing feature. Something I tool for granted in every OS version I have ever used. Management of WiFi connections…
If at any point you connected to a wireless network you would do what you would normally do and enter the password or whatever method was required to connect. When connected Windows would remember those details and auto connect (if ticked) as required. Lets say you travel to hotel, conferences, airport lounges, coffee shops, work, home, mifi, phone tethering. Each time creating a new connection.
Some of these you might want to remove. Delete so that it didn’t remember the connection forever.
Unless you looked it up on a search engine and was happy to use a command prompt, Windows 8.1 did not let you manage those connections. It was hard to remove them.
The latest patch allows the management of them.
Via the charms bar you can click on setting, network, connection, display the information about re WiFi connection and then click on a new feature called “manage known networks” from here you can see old connections and delete / manage them without needing to use the command prompt.
Simples!
